About the Founder

In 1984 my dad decided he wanted to learn how to sail. So he bought a moderately aged 22’ sailboat and got a couple of his friends to teach me how to sail it while he enjoyed the sun and cold beverages. From there the boats got bigger, older and in deeper need of repair; Sailors are notoriously cheap ya know. I started at the great age of 8 helping my father sand, paint, polish, fix holes, clean bilges etc.. By the age of 15, I had helped restore a 1961 Pearson Triton and a 1964 Larson fiberglass lapstrake I/O runabout. Both vessels required serious structural repairs(i.e.: split keel, soft decks, hooked and cracked hull..) along with complete electrical and mechanical overhauls. I have also since restored an aluminum 1962 Chris Craft Roamer Custom Comet and countless customer jobs of various levels since opening a repair business in 2004. I have a strong professional background in mechanical and DC electrical troubleshooting and repair since 1996. After 20 years of bending myself into funny shapes and stuffing myself where no normal size human belongs, I started developing some physical discomforts and retired from locker lunges, bilge diving and rig climbing. I now focus on helping boaters save money on DIY jobs and understand their boats and its systems.
